Our Explorers program is an introduction to leadership skills and will focus on identifying personal strengths, problem solving and interpersonal skill development. This program is ideal for young people looking to build confidence in themselves while enjoying the outdoors.
Leadership participants will take part in leadership sessions throughout camp that allow them to work within a team of peers to find their own unique leadership style. Participants will take part in an overnight canoe trip that they will help plan and execute. Leadership participants will also have the opportunity to take part in daily camp programs where they will be leaders within the community for younger campers.
Character Development: This program helps build the following traits
Independence: Leadership participants will have the space needed for young people to learn how to make decisions, find out what their passions are and make life long bonds. Time spend away from their families allows these young people to take control of their decisions and build confidence in decision making.
Resilience: Leadership participants will take part in an overnight canoe trip that allows them to test their physical and mental strength as they take part in this unique experience. Participants will need to rely on their staff and peers to work together and complete the trip.
