The Our Kids review of Camp Cherith - Ontario

    our take

Kayaking, horseback riding, archery—these are just some of the adventures kids will get at Camp Cherith. And they do this all while gaining much-needed self confidence, leadership skills, empathy and learning about faith. Everything they do at Camp Cherith is integrated into the Christian faith, and they’ve been doing it for almost 70 years! All of the staff are enthusiastic and positive role models who don’t feel like they are doing a job—they truly enjoy each day at camp. Staff, as well as campers are transformed by their time at Camp Cherith. Their motto is “No child left inside”, and that is truly espoused in all of the fun outdoor activities that surely leave kids exhausted and content at the end of the day. There are a variety of programs available, including girls only and co-ed camps, as well as father-son and mother-daughter bonding camps that are wildly popular.

    Mr.

I had the best time ever at camp serving as a cabin leader. Not only was I able to grow spiritually by spending more time with God, I also learned to love the kids in my cabins. They really taught me a lot. A lot of the questions they asked me really provoked my thoughts and made me think. I will definitely treasure that precious month I spent in camp. School is really tiring and I really miss camp, I am in my senior year and I will be graduating this year. Camp Cherith truly is a great place for campers and staff to develop their private relationships with God. I would like to return for about 1 to 3 weeks next summer if you will accept me as a cabin leader again. Sincerely yours, Stev ... Show More

    Day Camp was amazing

Our kids have been attending your overnight program for years but because of COVID you had to change to day camp this summer. All 3 of my kids came and they enjoyed it immensely. Thank you!

    Amazing Staff

Soda Pop: Youthful faithfulness. Willing to serve and learn along the way. Reliable and steady. Minnow: Faithful, trustworthy and reliable. A kind soul.I’d trust Minnow with anything. Mrs. Potts: Faithful, sweet and willing to serve the L_RD our God. Casper: Quiet and willing to serve without the fanfare. And, like Palindrome, willing to step up when called. Book Worm: Grace under pressure. Willing to serve where called. Such a good lesson for all to see. Does what is right in the sight of the L_RD ... Show More

    • Friendly Staff

“Thank you so much for helping nurture our son and ground his faith in Christ.”

    • What is Important?
"Camp Cherith, you both, and the many, many incredible people that have spent their summers there, have been responsible for changing all three of our children's lives for eternity. There are so few leaders, to our knowledge, that are willing to lead with uncompromisingly high standards. From what we hear from our boys you are just such leaders. We thank God for you."
    • Need I say More?
"When we picked up our daughter she had a smile from ear to ear, stories to share and songs to sing. She asked me if she could come back again. I think that explains it all since this was her first experience at a sleepover camp."
    • Thank you
