A camp for those with learning disabilities, Camp Amicus is a special camp providing a structured, positive, and supportive environment for kids. Their mission is to help kids develop all-important social skills and build lasting relationships with fellow campers in a traditional camp environment. The camper to counselor ratio is very low—only 3 campers per one counselor. This allows for a really individualized offering, so kids feel safe and taken care of. All counselors love working with kids and receive special training on ADHD and learning disabilities, as well as SIVA safety management. This camp is wonderful and well-known for building the self-esteem of kids. Kids here might have issues with making friends or feeling successful, so the camp takes the time to really involve kids in what they are doing in a way that boosts their confidence. Activities are non-competitive, so there are never any losers here either. The camp program was developed based on evidence-based research specifically for youth with LD/ADHD.
Parent Feedback
Camp Amicus gives our son somewhere he feels he belongs and he can connect in ways he can't with his peers at school. Truly amazing.
All staff recieve specific ADHD and learning disability training in addition to a certification in SIVA (Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments) safety management.

Is Camp Amicus technology free? Yes. Cell phones are not permitted at Camp. Camp provides an excellent opportunity for your child to gain independence and build friendships and cell phones take away from this. Cell phones cannot be used as cameras. As we know many campers want photos to remember their time at camp, we have a camp photographer who is here to capture and share the amazing camp activities. If your child has a cell phone as they are responsible for taking themselves to and from camp that is okay. We will just sign it in for the day, and return it to the camper when they head home. Thank you in advance for supporting the benefits of the camp experience by keeping your child’s cell phone at home.
