Are you interested in the world of business?

Do you want to hone your skills in persuasion and public speaking?

If you said “yes,” then sign up for this exciting NEW summer course!

Vanessa Iarocci, Brain Power CEO

In this first-of-its-kind business and public speaking program, led by Brain Power CEO, Vanessa Iarocci, students will be presented with an Ivy League calibre case study, featuring a potential client with a set of specific financial goals.  Working in teams with their faculty coaches (including professional investors and CEOs), students will be guided to build a strategy to meet their client’s short and long-term investment goals, culminating in a persuasive investor presentation.

Participating in this program can also prepare students to compete in The Wharton Global High School Investment Competition, a prestigious, online investment simulation for high school students (9th to 12th grade) that attracts high-calibre students from over 90 countries. (It’s free to enroll!)

In this course, students will gain exposure to:

  • foundational investing concepts
  • critical thinking skills relating to risk, diversification and financial decision making
  • company and industry analysis methods
  • public speaking and persuasive presentation techniques

Vanessa Iarocci, Brain Power CEO, earned her Bachelor of Commerce, CPA designation and was selected to complete a post-graduate certificate in innovation at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.  Following this, Vanessa spent over two decades in increasingly senior positions at PwC and TD Bank Financial Group. She then honed her entrepreneurial skills as the CEO of a national school apparel company, where she led an innovative turnaround and growth strategy. As an Executive-In-Residence at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, Vanessa has developed curricula, case studies and mentorship programs for MBA students, including the world’s first MBA course exploring social innovation. She also recently designed the ‘Scale-Up’ Program for the MaRS Discovery District, a playbook for Canadian CEOs seeking to scale companies globally. Vanessa has also authored multiple thought leadership papers that have been featured in major media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and the Globe and Mail.
