Here's what makes Borealis Adventure Camp stand out

Borealis brings the best elements of camp together to deliver a truly camper-centric, traditional camp experience. Campers discover the joy of being outdoors, while skills like leadership, teamwork and self-reliance blossom through a range of activities they choose, from canoeing to creative arts. Our beautiful private lake, surrounded by pristine wilderness, near Bancroft, Ontario, provides the setting where campers create magical memories and form friendships that stand the test of time. Our site provides comfort and connectedness through a thoughtful design, where campers can access their canvas wall tent cabins, just steps from the dining hall and washroom/shower facilities, all with a view of the lake.

When it comes to our campers, our top priority is that everyone who joins us for the summer has an incredible experience, full of positive, growth filled moments that inspire and serve as a catalyst for the creation of enhanced self worth, lifelong friendships and cherished memories. We prioritize compassion and empathy when interacting with our campers, through a focus on positivity and gratitude. The intention with which we interact with each other and the site where camp takes place, leads to the creation of consistent joy for our campers. The uniqueness of our site enables us to provide an experience that combines the comforts of a base camp, with the adventure that ensues during a back-country canoe trip.

  • Reviews & Insider Perspectives

The Our Kids review of Borealis Adventure Camp

    our take

Borealis Adventure Camp promises the best summer ever. And when you realize that the primary focus on this camp is to give campers an incredible experience, you trust that it will be just that—the best summer ever. The camp is programmed so that there are many positive and growth-filled moments, whether that’s in the form of peer interaction, jumping into the beautiful lake for a morning dip, or singing a song you wrote in front of the campfire. Kids who are nervous about camp will soon realize that this is a home away from home. Accommodations aren’t too shabby either and not your typical camp bunkhouse. Instead, campers stay in glamping cabins, with private washrooms and changing areas. Technology is shunned here and devices are not allowed. Campers are encouraged to connect with bunkmates and write letters home the traditional way. The food is fresh and local and dare we say, delicious. Founder Jory Elliott’s enthusiasm for kids having a great time at camp is what spurs the magic of this camp, and it definitely shows in the smiles and laughter that are rampant here.
