COURSE DESCRIPTION 
Bronze Medallion challenges the candidate both mentally 
and physically. Judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness – 
the four components of water rescue – form the basis of 
Bronze Medallion training. 
Candidates acquire the assessment and problem-solving 
skills needed to make good decisions in, on, and around 
the water. Bronze Medallion is a prerequisite for assistant 
lifeguard training in Bronze Cross. 
PREREQUISITES 
13 years of age or successful completion of Bronze Star (need not to be current). 
REQUIRED MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT 
The required materials for this course are: 
▶ Canadian First Aid Manual 
▶ Canadian Lifesaving Manual 
▶ Bronze Medallion Workbook (2020 Version)


Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Responsibility: Preparing to care for self and others in a leadership and first aid capacity in an aquatic environment
